Kullu, July 30, 2023 – The Kinnaur Kailash pilgrimage is becoming extremely popular among devotees this year. Within four days of the journey’s commencement, over 960 devotees have set out to visit the sacred Kailash. On Sunday, 352 devotees began their trek from the Tangling base camp.
The demand for online slots for the pilgrimage has surged significantly. For instance, all online slots up to August 4 were booked within just a few hours of the portal opening on July 28. The administration reopened new online registration slots for August 5 to August 10 on Sunday, but these slots filled up in just two and a half hours. A total of 175 online slots are being booked each day.
An offline registration option is also available. Devotees without online slots can now register offline at the Tangling base camp to participate in the pilgrimage. The administration has made it clear that registration is mandatory to join the journey. After registration, it is also necessary to collect a token from the Tangling base camp. Devotees without tokens are being sent back from the second base camp located at Ganesh Bagh.
There have been changes in the administration’s arrangements. In the initial days, the administration was lenient towards devotees without tokens, but now the rules are being strictly enforced. Devotees are permitted to set out on their journey from the Tangling base camp only until 1:00 PM.
