Thousands of outsourced employees in Himachal Pradesh are set to receive relief. Chief Minister Sukhuindar Singh Sukhu stated that the government is going to make a decision soon to protect the interests of outsourced employees. Work is underway to prepare a policy in this regard.
On Sunday, the Chief Minister participated as the chief guest in the closing ceremony of the International Minjar Fair-2026 at the historic Chougan in Chamba. In an informal conversation with journalists, he indicated this. He mentioned that there has been a long-standing demand for a clear policy for outsourced employees in the state.
He informed that the highest number of appointments on an outsourced basis were made in the state during 2016 and 2017. Currently, a large number of employees are providing services under the outsourced system in various departments, including education, water resources, public works, the state electricity board, and many others. He stated that a practical and fair policy will be developed to secure the future of outsourced employees.
Additionally, the government is also considering sending doctors for exposure visits abroad. A policy is being formulated in this regard.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a 200-bed building at the Chamba Medical College and Hospital, built at a cost of ₹158 crore, as well as the Shahpur-Sihunta-Chamba road. He also ordered an investigation into the case of a young man’s death during treatment at Chamba Medical College.
On Sunday, the fair concluded with the ritual of Minjar immersion in the Ravi River, which was performed by the Chief Minister. Prior to this, a grand procession was taken out from the Akhand Chandi Palace, led by CM Sukhu. The Chief Minister also released the souvenir of the Minjar Fair.
