Shimla: The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhu, has announced the ‘Apna Sukhi Parivar Yojana’, which will be inaugurated by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Mandi on August 18. Under this scheme, approximately 178,000 poor families will benefit from social security.

Under this scheme, eligible women will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹1,500 deposited directly into their bank accounts. This amount will be sent through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Government Working on Beneficiary Data

The formal launch of the scheme will take place during an event in Mandi in the presence of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Currently, the government is preparing the final data of beneficiaries to ensure that the funds can be transferred directly to the accounts of eligible women.

34,000 Women Currently Benefiting

Currently, around 34,000 eligible women are receiving the honorarium of ₹1,500. After the new system is implemented, the number of beneficiaries will exceed 300,000.

Basic Amenities Will Also Be Provided

Under the ‘Apna Sukhi Parivar Yojana’, poor families will receive not only financial assistance but also basic amenities. Eligible families will be provided with 300 units of free electricity each month, an honorarium of ₹1,500 for women, and financial assistance for the construction of permanent houses for families living in temporary structures. This scheme will provide a strong foundation of social and economic security for the most vulnerable families.
