The Shirgul Maharaj temple, which was completed in approximately six years in the Chiyuna Lingjar of the Sarahan area, was completely reduced to ashes due to a fire. The installation of the temple’s spire was scheduled for September 21. Being made of wood, the fire spread rapidly, and the entire structure was destroyed in an instant.
There were no casualties in this incident. Villagers attempted to extinguish the fire, but controlling it proved difficult due to the wooden structure of the temple. Upon receiving news of the incident, the station officer arrived at the scene with a police team to inspect the site.
The investigation revealed that the temple was built through the collective effort of the village residents, taking nearly six years to complete. The temple’s roof was made of slate, and construction utilized stone along with cedar wood. Only painting and electrical fittings remained, and an electricity meter had also been installed.
The police’s preliminary investigation could not determine the cause of the fire, and villagers have expressed no suspicion towards anyone. The construction work on the temple was nearly complete, and villagers were engaged in preparations for the spire installation when this incident occurred. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire, and further action will be taken following the investigation.
